Oliver Rowland topped the time charts in Free Practice 2, following a late improvement by the Nissan e.dams driver in preparation for qualifying for Saturday’s New York City E-Prix.
Rowland reeled off a 1:09.685 on his final flying lap in the 30-minute session to end up 0.083 seconds quicker than BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s Antonio Felix da Costa in second.
Rowland’s teammate Sebastien Buemi was third quickest, followed by FP1 pace-setter Alexander Sims in fourth and Robin Frijns completing the top-five.
Championship leader Jean-Eric Vergne had a slight lockup in the closing stages of the session, although his DS Techeetah entry did not sustain any damage.
As was the case in FP1, no major incidents occurred in the session.
Qualifying gets underway at 11:45 a.m. EDT.
